Job summary

John Knox Village in Florida seeks an experienced licensed electrician to support safe, reliable operation of electrical systems. The role covers installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection in compliance with NEC and state codes.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, diagnose issues with testing equipment, and perform preventive maintenance while supporting projects with contractors. A valid Journeyman license and OSHA training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years of progressively responsible electrical experience.
• Experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, manufacturing, or residential environments as needed.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License required.
• State Electrical License where applicable.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components per NEC and local/state codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Install and maintain emergency power systems, backup generators, transfer switches, and related equipment.
• Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and code compliance.
• Respond to emergency electrical service calls and outages as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance personnel on projects.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Identify energy efficiency opportunities and improve reliability of electrical systems.
