Job summary

The State of Michigan invites applications for an Electrician Licensed E9 position, with the option to apply for Electrician Master Licensed E10. This role covers maintenance of traffic control devices and electrical systems across the Bay Region for MDOT.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and a journeyman electrician license. CDL learner’s permit with appropriate endorsements is required within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman electrician license.
• CDL learner’s permit with required endorsements obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electronic traffic control devices and electrical equipment for the Bay Region.
• Install, repair, inspect, and perform routine or emergency maintenance on traffic signals, freeway lighting, MDOT facilities, ITS equipment.
• Operate an aerial bucket truck and aerial lift for installing and repairing traffic signal equipment and lighting at MDOT facilities.
