Job summary

Brunswick County is seeking a skilled Electrician to troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, lay out and install new secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches. You will provide detailed materials lists, cost estimates, and order necessary materials for projects.

In addition to HVAC system troubleshooting and occasional building maintenance tasks, you may assist with moving furniture and handling door locks, sinks, toilets, and drains using hand or power tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school diploma supplemented by at least five years of experience in general construction trades and/or building maintenance.
• NC State Electrician's License required, or obtained within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls.
• Layouts and installs new electrical secondary service including panels, breakers, disconnects, and switches.
• Provides detailed materials list, gets cost estimates, and orders materials required for projects.
• Logs HVAC equipment, troubleshoots and repairs some HVAC systems, and performs other duties such as moving furniture, repairing or replacing door locks, and unclogging sinks, toilets, and drains with hand or power tools.
