Pyramid Healthcare's Freedom Detox in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Licensed Counselor to join the clinical team and support individuals on their recovery journey.

You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, provide group and family counseling, coordinate discharge and aftercare, and maintain compliant documentation in the EHR. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, or related field.
• Active North Carolina clinical or associate-level license, or eligibility to obtain/maintain one.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments of clients' behavioral, emotional, and social needs.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment goals with the team.
• Provide individual and group counseling and family sessions.
• Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare services.
• Maintain compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
• Support utilization review and insurance authorization requests.
• Provide crisis intervention and a safe therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical staff in meetings.
• Assist with program curriculum development and staff training.
• Participate in on-call rotation and complete training duties.

Freedom Detox is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Counselor to join our clinical team in Gastonia, NC. What You'll Do

• Complete assessments of clients' behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment goals in collaboration with the treatment team
• Provide individual counseling, family sessions, and therapeutic groups
• Assist with discharge planning and coordinate appropriate aftercare services
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record
• Support utilization review activities and insurance authorization requests
• Provide crisis intervention and help maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with medical and clinical staff
• Assist with program curriculum development, staff training, and implementation of clinical best practices
• Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned
• Complete required training and other duties as needed

What We're Looking For

Required

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, or a related field
• Active North Carolina clinical or associate-level license, or eligibility to obtain/maintain one

Preferred Licensure

• LCSWA or LCSW
• LCASA or LCAS

Preferred Experience

• Experience in substance use treatment, detox, behavioral health, or mental health
• Experience providing trauma-informed care
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in crisis situations
• Familiarity with applicable state regulations, accreditation standards, and clinical compliance requirements
