Full‑Time Licensed Counselor

Location: Gastonia, NC

Salary: $60k – $63k/year (based on licensure & experience)

• LMFTA / LMFT
• LCASA / LCAS (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Assess behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients and families
• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and monitor individualized treatment goals
• Provide individual counseling, family sessions, therapeutic groups, and discharge planning support
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record
• Support utilization review processes and authorization requests
• Participate in aftercare planning and continuity of care coordination
• Assist with program curriculum development, staff training, and clinical best practices
• Provide crisis intervention and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
• Participate in on‑call rotation as assigned
• Complete required trainings and other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Chemical Dependency, or related field
• Active North Carolina clinical license or associate‑level license required
• Experience in substance use treatment, trauma‑informed care, detox, or mental health settings preferred
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations
• Knowledge of state regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance expectations
