Job summary

American Addiction Centers is seeking a Counselor III to provide individual, group and family counseling for adults with addictions and co-occurring disorders. The role involves clinical assessments, treatment planning, and collaboration with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s in Behavioral Sciences and an unrestricted state license (LPC/LICSW/LMFT/LMHC). A minimum of 3 years in behavioral healthcare and experience with EHR systems are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences required.
• Unrestricted license to practice in the state of employment (LPC, LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, etc.).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral healthcare.
• Experience with substance abuse, addictions, mental health, CBT, and motivational interviewing.
• Knowledge of electronic health record software and documentation.
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling.
• Conduct clinical assessments for new patients and ongoing required assessments.
• Advocate and communicate with Utilization Review on patient care aspects.
• Provide clinical supervision to assigned interns.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and program staff meetings.
