Job summary

Resident Salon Services is seeking a licensed cosmetologist to join as a Resident Hair Specialist on a part-time basis. You’ll deliver hair services tailored for senior residents in a safe, welcoming setting, emphasizing dignity and connection.

You’ll perform consultations, haircuts, styling, chemical services, and maintain strict sanitation. A caring, patient demeanor and strong communication are essential to enhance residents’ confidence and comfort every day.

Qualifications

• Current Cosmetology License required.
• Minimum of 3 years licensed cosmetology experience.
• Experience with senior clientele preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultations, haircuts, styling, chemical treatments for senior residents.
• Offer gentle, patient care considering mobility, comfort, and needs.
• Educate residents on age-appropriate hair care and maintenance practices.
• Stay updated on techniques for mature hair including perms, roller sets, and teasing.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary salon space per health standards and State Board Guidelines.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.

What We’re Looking For:

• Current Cosmetology License (required).
• Minimum of 3 years’ licensed experience in cosmetology.
• Experience working with senior clientele is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in haircutting, styling, and chemical services.
• Strong attention to detail and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, empathetic demeanor.
