Job summary

Jobtailor in California seeks an equipment technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain compact construction gear, using John Deere Service Advisor for evaluations and documentation. The role requires applying safety procedures, ordering parts, and ongoing training through JDU programs.

Qualifications

2+ years of equipment repair experience.
Valid 421A or 425A license.
Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge.
Proficient with diagnostic tools and work orders.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Customer service and communication skills.
Experience operating construction equipment during diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, assemble/disassemble, and maintain compact construction equipment.
Use diagnostic tools and John Deere Service Advisor to evaluate and document work.
Order parts and coordinate with parts department as needed.
Follow safety procedures during service assignments.
Maintain knowledge via John Deere University training.
Explain service work and maintenance to service office and customers.
Participate in product clinics or customer-facing events as required.
Operate and test equipment for diagnostic purposes as part of repair workflows.
