Job summary

State of the Heart Recovery is seeking a Clinical Therapist to deliver behavioral health and substance use counseling in an integrated environment. The role includes individual, group, and family therapy, clinical assessments, and treatment planning with a focus on recovery-oriented goals.

Under supervision as required by licensure, you will contribute to a trauma-informed clinical team, support supervision, and develop toward independent licensure in New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as LMHC, LPCC, LISW, LMSW, LCSW, or LMFT in the State of New Mexico.
• Preferred two years of psychotherapy experience with adults who have co-occurring behavioral health and substance use needs.
• Medicaid provider number or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certification within ninety days of hire.
• Knowledge of confidentiality regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Proficiency in behavioral health documentation and use of electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based treatment methods.
• Conduct clinical assessments including biopsychosocial evaluations, ASAM criteria, GPRA assessments, and other tools.
• Develop, update, and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable, recovery-oriented goals.
• Document all services according to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 and other standards.
• Ensure ethical conduct, professional boundaries, and client rights are upheld.
• Support crisis intervention activities and consult with supervisors on high-risk situations.
• Coordinate referrals for medical, psychiatric, housing, or social services as appropriate.
• Participate in weekly clinical supervision and case consultation meetings.
• Engage in quality assurance reviews, chart audits, and compliance improvement activities.
• Participate in trainings, treatment team meetings, and professional development.
