Job summary

State of the Heart Recovery Inc is seeking a Clinical Therapist to deliver behavioral health and substance use counseling within an integrated treatment setting. You will provide individual, group, and family therapy, perform assessments, and help develop treatment plans under licensure supervision.

This role offers a path for professional growth with supervision hours toward independent licensure in New Mexico. Stringent documentation, HIPAA compliance, and trauma-informed care are essential.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as LMHC, LPCC, LISW, LMSW, LCSW, or LMFT in New Mexico.
• Preferred two years of experience delivering psychotherapy to adults with co-occurring disorders.
• Medicaid provider number or ability to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certification within ninety days of hire.
• Knowledge of confidentiality regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Proficiency in behavioral health documentation and EHR use.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and trauma-informed care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based methods.
• Conduct clinical assessments including biopsychosocial evaluations, ASAM criteria, GPRA assessments.
• Develop, update, and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Document all services per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Maintain ethical conduct and client rights.
• Support crisis intervention and consult with supervisors on high-risk cases.
• Coordinate referrals to medical, psychiatric, housing or social services.
• Participate in weekly supervision and case consultations.
• Engage in quality assurance, chart audits, and compliance activities.
• Attend mandatory trainings and team meetings.
• Maintain active licensure and complete continuing education.
