Job summary

Adjuvant Behavioral Health in Dallas, TX seeks an empathetic licensed clinical social worker to deliver counseling to cancer patients and families, with a focus on evidence-based behavioral health for oncology.

You will manage a client load, develop SMART treatment plans within 72 hours of intake, and collaborate with staff to coordinate comprehensive care. Telehealth experience is preferred, and a Texas LCSW license is required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting.
• Current and active Licensed Clinical Social Worker license in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients individually and/or in family sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies or adjustments.
• Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy.
• Guide clients in developing skills or strategies for dealing with problems.
• Develop and implement SMART treatment plans within 72 hours after intake and update every 4 weeks.
• Maintain client-related paperwork and progress notes within 48 hours after sessions.
• Prepare and maintain all treatment records and reports.
• Evaluate clients' conditions based on information reviewed.
• Collaborate with staff to develop assessments or plans within 2 days of care initiation.
• Refer patients to community resources or specialists as necessary.
• Learn about new developments by reading and attending courses or networking with agencies.

We are looking for empathetic, experienced mental health professionals to come along side us in this endeavor!

Role

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the mission of the clinic, a therapist will seek to facilitate hope and change in the lives of their clients who have been affected by cancer. A therapist is responsible for accepting referrals and maintaining a client load (minimum 18 hours per week).

Primary Responsibilities

• Counsel clients or patients individually and/or within family sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
• Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy.
• Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with the patient. Treatment plans are to be developed 72 hours after intake and updated / modified every 4 weeks.
• Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including client diagnostic records and progress notes. Progress notes are to be developed 48 hours after every session.
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
• Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of client information.
• Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with the existing patient.
• Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
• Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Masters Degree from an accredited college or university
• Two years of professional level experience in a counselor setting
• Current and active Licensed Clinical Social Worker license in Texas

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in healthcare with oncology
• 1 year experience in Telehealth Settings
