Job summary

Northwell Health in Bay Shore, NY is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols. You will maintain equipment, record results, and contribute to quality assurance activities while exercising independent judgment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field, NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, and at least one year of relevant experience;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Minimum of one year work experience or training in the noted area.
• Hematology/Chemistry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and performs a variety of routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures; prepares and tests specimens and reports results.
• Follows in-process quality control procedures and records data.
• Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, and methodologies.
• Maintains supplies at the work station and ensures quality control/assurance activities.
• Uses Infection Control practices and procedures; performs related duties as required.
