Job summary

Berks Counseling Center, Inc. is seeking a clinician to perform comprehensive clinical assessments for prospective clients as part of Open Admission. You will orient clients to services and set up the electronic health record, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient, compliant documentation.

The role requires PA licensure and at least one year of behavioral health experience, with full-time hours and optional Saturday shifts. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active PA Licensure required.
• Counseling experience in mental health and/or drug and alcohol.
• At least 1 year documented work experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours (8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Fri; Saturdays when applicable).

Responsibilities

• Serve as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Conduct face to face clinical behavioral health assessments on persons seeking services.
• Determine an appropriate level of care for each client based on established guidelines.
• Assign client to an appropriate clinician based on needs.
• Complete intake notes and comprehensive clinical assessments meeting compliance and medical necessity standards.

Summary of job:

You will be responsible for completing a comprehensive clinical assessment on potential clients seeking admission to Berks Counseling Center as part of our Open Admission process. This will include completion of supporting documentation, orienting the client to services, and setting up the electronic health record.

You will…

• Serve as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Conduct face to face clinical behavioral health assessments on persons seeking services at Berks Counseling Center as part of BCC’s multidisciplinary admissions team.
• Determine an appropriate level of care for each client based on established guidelines.
• Assign client to an appropriate clinician based on his/her needs.
• Utilize collaborative documentation to complete an intake note and comprehensive clinical assessment that meets compliance standards, medical necessity guidelines, and agency standards as to timeliness and accuracy of documentation.

Requirements

To qualify for the position, you will need…

• Active PA Licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
• Counseling experience in mental health and/or drug and alcohol required
• At least one (1) year documented work experience in a behavioral health setting
• Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday with Saturday hours, when applicable.

• Be Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
