Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting is seeking a Licensed Blaster to perform blasting activities at job sites under the direction of the Blasting Supervisor and Project Superintendent. The role requires two years of drilling/explosives experience, Blaster I training, and a valid blasting certificate where required.

Candidate must hold a CDL with hazmat and be able to transport explosives across state lines, with the ability to comply with pre-blast and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Degree required.
• Minimum of two years experience with drills and explosives.
• Blaster I training completed; Blaster II training required to be completed.
• Possess a Valid Blasting Certificate where required.
• Must have CDL with hazmat endorsement and be Company-qualified driver with a clean driving record.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check with ATF.
• Willing to travel out of town/state.
• Strong knowledge of blasting techniques including blast design, loading holes, detonators, and blast site security.

Responsibilities

• Perform blasting activities per job program to meet production goals.
• Operate as a job-site blaster under supervision of Blasting Supervisor/Project Superintendent.
• Provide input on blast-related activities to assist supervisors in planning.
• Verify pre-blast inspections and perform pre-blast tests and seismograph setup as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and practices.
• Document use of explosives and complete required inventory paperwork.
