Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is hiring a Licensed Blaster to perform blasting activities on job sites. You will follow directions from the Blasting Supervisor, conduct pre-blast inspections, and ensure safety policies are followed. Requires Blaster I/II training, blasting certificate, and CDL with hazmat endorsement.

Qualifications

• High School Degree required.
• Minimum of two years experience with drills and explosives.
• Blaster I and Blaster II training completed.
• Valid Blasting Certificate where required by state.
• CDL with hazmat endorsement and company-qualified driver.
• Must have good communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned blasting activities.
• Works as a job site blaster under supervision.
• Provides input on blast-related activities to aid supervisors.
• Identifies blast site problems and resolves with supervisors.
• Verifies pre-blast inspections before blasting.
• Performs pre-blast tests and seismograph setup as needed.
• Follows all safety policies and practices.
• Places supply and material requests through supervision.
• Monitors blast pattern vs digging and reports results.
• Documents use of explosives and completes inventory paperwork.
• Transports explosives across state lines when needed.
• Completes field accounting reports and trip manifests.
• Attends meetings and participates in safety briefings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
