Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience with drills and explosives.
• Blaster I training completed; Blaster II training required.
• Possess a valid Blasting Certificate where required by state law.
• CDL with hazmat endorsement; company-qualified driver; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs blasting activities as directed.
• Works as a job-site blaster under supervision.
• Provides input on blast-related activities for planning.
• Identifies blast site problems and coordinates with supervisors.
• Verifies pre-blast inspections and conducts pre-blast tests and seismograph setup.
• Complies with company safety policies and procedures.
• Places supply and material requests to supervisors.
• Documents explosives use and completes inventory paperwork.
• Transport of explosives across state lines as needed.
• Attends company meetings and daily safety briefings.
