Job summary

JPS Health Network is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional (PRN) to provide assessments and crisis intervention across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Center. The role coordinates discharge planning, referrals, and liaison activities with families and community partners.

The position requires a Master’s in Social Work or Counseling and current licensure (LMSW/LCSW/LPC) with CPR certification, and may involve court-ordered mental health service

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Must have current licensure: LMSW, LCSW, or LPC from Texas boards.
• Certification in non-aggressive crisis management; maintained during employment.
• CPR Certification maintained throughout employment (within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Gathers pertinent information about all assigned patients.
• Completes an assessment, including discharge planning needs and alternatives.
• Coordinates transfers and applies EMTALA knowledge during processing.
• Coordinate filings for court-ordered mental health services with families and Legal Coordinator.
• Charts assigned patients per operating procedure and maintains records.
• Liaisons with patient’s family or support systems regarding care and discharge plans.
• Assumes crisis counseling, psycho-educational services, or other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assumes primary discharge planning responsibilities and coordinates referrals.
• Maintains knowledge about issues affecting adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
• Maintains community resource information for these populations.
• Maintains clinical competence in social work services and professional growth.
• Ensures compliance with HIV pre- and post-counseling policies.
