Job summary

Standing Tide Crew Management is seeking Licensed Assistant Engineers for upcoming vessel placements in the US. You will support the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining propulsion, power, HVAC, water and waste systems, and assist during bunkering and shipyard periods.

The role requires current USCG licenses, STCW training, and the ability to work under pressure in a team environment. Travel is required; background checks and medical exams per USCG rules apply.

Qualifications

  • USCG DDE 4000 license or equivalent Assistant Engineer license.
  • STCW OICEW >1000 HP.
  • Current STCW Basic Training and endorsements.
  • Valid TWIC, US Passport, and USCG Medical Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer with operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel systems (propulsion, power generation, distribution, HVAC/refrigeration, water and waste systems).
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and keep accurate records.
  • Support bunkering operations, inspections, and shipyard periods.
  • Help maintain compliance with company, USCG, and environmental requirements.
