L&L Insulations is seeking a licensed asbestos abatement professional to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. The role involves inspection, removal, and remediation of asbestos-containing materials in various settings, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds an Iowa license, has experience in residential, commercial, or industrial abatement, and can work on-site at multiple job sites, with occasional overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid state or federal Asbestos Abatement License/Certification is required.
• Experience in asbestos abatement or handling hazardous materials is preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NESHAP and local regulations is essential.
• Ability to wear and use PPE, respirators, suits, gloves, and footwear safely.
• Must be able to lift, bend, and work in confined spaces with fitness for duty.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform asbestos abatement work including removal, encapsulation, repair, and disposal.
• Follow project specs, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines during removal.
• Set up containment areas, negative air systems, and decontamination units.
• Use PPE properly and ensure respiratory protection compliance.
• Collect, label, and transport asbestos waste according to regulations.
• Conduct site inspections before, during, and after abatement activities.
• Maintain accurate records such as air monitoring logs and daily reports.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with regulations.
