Job summary

Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking a Licensed Architect to lead design and project management on City projects. The role emphasizes project architecture and contract administration, with coordination of consultants to meet city guidelines.

The position requires a registered Architect in Utah, a five-year or master's degree in architecture, and four years of project management experience. A valid driver’s license is needed; the department offers full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Five-year Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent
• Registration as a Licensed Architect by the State of Utah with six months for reciprocity
• Four years’ paid work experience as an Architectural Project Manager
• Ability to lead, develop and support team members and communicate complex reports
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Design and completion of architectural projects; acts as Project Manager on multi-faceted projects
• Prepare or supervise bid documents and monitor bidding process
• Determine project requirements and materials; review surveys and contractor pricing
• Direct architectural staff and evaluate performance
• Monitor project status and ensure compliance with guidelines
• Represent Salt Lake City Corporation on joint projects and liaise with consultants
• Prepare project budgets, scopes of work, scheduling, and phasing
• Perform construction administration and review contractor pay requests
• Perform related duties as required
