Lumi Nails and MedSpa in Chicago, IL is seeking a licensed aesthetician to perform non-invasive skin treatments and client consultations under medical oversight.

The role covers HydraFacials, chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, and BABOR facials. You will work with a medical director and nurse injector to craft personalized treatment plans and grow Lumi's skincare menu.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois aesthetician license required.
• Minimum 2 years of medical spa/dermatology skincare experience.
• Proven skills in three or more core facial modalities (HydraFacial, peels, microneedling, dermaplaning).

Licensed Aesthetician Full Time or Part Time · South Loop, Chicago Intro: Lumi's founding aesthetician, an Illinois licensed skincare specialist to perform HydraFacials, medical grade chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, and BABOR clinical facials, under medical director oversight. The Role: You'll be Lumi's founding aesthetician, responsible for performing all non injectable skin treatments, conducting skin consultations, and helping shape the skincare side of our medspa service menu. You'll work under the oversight of our medical director and collaborate with our nurse injector to deliver comprehensive treatment plans. What You'll Do: Perform HydraFacial treatments (Signature, Deluxe, Platinum) with customized boosters, serums, and LED therapy Administer medical grade chemical peels (Level 1 through Level 3 advanced corrective peels) and manage peel series programs Perform microneedling treatments (face and face + neck) under medical director supervision Execute dermaplaning services (express treatments and add ons to facials, HydraFacials, and peels) Perform BABOR clinical facial treatments (Signature, Advanced Corrective, Luxe Facial Experience) customized to individual skin concerns Conduct thorough skin consultations, assess skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, conditions, goals, and create personalized treatment plans Develop and manage treatment programs for acne, pigment / melasma correction, and anti aging skin plans Collaborate with the nurse injector on comprehensive client roadmaps that combine skincare and injectable services Perform extractions and LED / calming finishing treatments as standalone services and add ons Maintain compliance with Illinois regulations, OSHA, and sanitation requirements under medical director oversight Manage skincare inventory, product ordering, and supplier relationships (BABOR, HydraFacial, peel solutions, microneedling supplies) Build and retain a loyal client base through exceptional results and attentive follow up care Contribute to Lumi's content and marketing (with your consent), including before/after photos, skincare education, and event presence What We're Looking For: Active Illinois aesthetician license (required) Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical spa, dermatology office, or clinical skincare setting Proven expertise in at least three of: HydraFacials, medical grade chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, clinical facials Strong skin analysis and consultation skills Knowledge of skin anatomy, Fitzpatrick skin typing, contraindications, and post treatment protocols Experience with medical grade skincare lines and active ingredients (retinoids, acids, antioxidants, peptides) Comfortable in a boutique setting, small team, building from scratch, wearing multiple hats early on Warm, professional demeanor that puts clients at ease Meticulous about sanitation, sterilization, and treatment room preparation Bonus (Nice to Have): Existing client following in the Chicago area HydraFacial certification or advanced training Experience with the BABOR skincare line (or willingness to train) Advanced certifications in chemical peels or microneedling Social media presence or comfort being featured in educational skincare content Experience with LED light therapy, oxygen facials, or other advanced modalities Bilingual (English / Spanish) Compensation & Benefits: Competitive base salary plus commission on services performed 90 day guaranteed hourly rate during ramp up while your client book builds Product and supply allowance Continuing education support (HydraFacial certifications, peel training, skincare conferences) Flexible scheduling that grows from part time to full time as your book builds Founding team seat, building something special from the ground up Friends and family discount on all Lumi services Pay: $29.41 - $35.42 per hour Benefits: • Employee discount • Flexible schedule • Professional development assistance Work Location: In person
