Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program in Metairie, LA. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to evidence-based care and individualized treatment.

Responsibilities include leading group therapy, psychoeducation, and recovery-focused counseling, while collaborating with clinical staff and maintaining complete documentation. A bachelor's degree is required, licensure is necessary, and a master’s is preferred to advance clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid state licensure/certification to practice (LPC, LCSW or CIT).
• Substance abuse experience required.
• Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.

• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills and recovery tools.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to track client progress and challenges.
• Escalate significant concerns to Clinical Director.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions.
• Ensure clinical assessments and individual client charting are completed.

Now hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program located in Metairie, LA!

What You'll Do

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
• Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. LPC, LCSW or CIT
• Substance abuse experience required
• Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
