Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program. You’ll conduct group therapy, help clients build coping skills, and collaborate with clinical staff to monitor progress.

Required: Bachelor’s in psychology/counseling; state licensure (LPC/LCSW/CIT); substance abuse experience. Master’s degree preferred. Join a supportive team that emphasizes confidentiality and recovery principles.

• Substance abuse experience required
• Excellent observation, collaborative and interpersonal skills

• Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality

Responsibilities

Now hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program located in Metairie, LA!

What You’ll Do

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client’s challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
