Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program. You will conduct group therapy, provide psychoeducation, and support clients in developing coping skills and recovery tools.

Collaborating with clinical staff, you will track client progress, document sessions thoroughly, and ensure all assessments and charts are accurately completed. A strong background in substance abuse and licensed credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• State licensure/certification to practice (LPC, LCSW or equivalent).
• Substance abuse experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs.
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors and recovery tools.
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress.

Now hiring a full-time Addiction Counselor for our Outpatient Program located in Metairie, LA!

What You’ll Do

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs


• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors and recovery tools


• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required. Master's degree preferred.


• Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. LPC, LCSW or CIT


• Substance abuse experience required


• Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills


• Strong oral and written communication skills


• Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles


• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality
