Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, PA seeks a Licensed Counselor to support addiction recovery programs. The role delivers counseling, assessments, and aftercare planning for clients with substance use and co-occurring conditions onsite.

Qualifications

• Post-Bachelor degree experience: 3+ years in addictions or counseling.
• Or a Master’s degree in social services, addictions, mental health or related field with 1+ year of post-Masters experience.
• Valid licensure or certifications as social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments focusing on history, current presentation, problem areas, and treatment needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.
• Prepare and carry out initial treatment planning and progress reviews.
• Lead group counseling, individual or family sessions and implement evidence-supported treatment modalities.
• Provide client and family education regarding substance abuse/psychiatric problems.
• Ensure all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is timely and clear.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling as needed.
• Plan for and complete required documentation of aftercare for assigned clients.
• Liaise with insurance carriers and referral sources.
• Acts as liaison between referral sources and clients.
• Provide case management for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.
• Conduct educational workshops within the Hospital and in the community.
• Serve as liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.
• Evaluate the needs of the client to determine the appropriate level of care and referrals.
