Job summary

Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in Westfield, PA seeks a Counselor I to provide treatment and support to clients in recovery from addictions. You will conduct group and family sessions, complete assessments, and prepare individualized treatment plans under supervision.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a social or health services field, internship or practicum experience in counseling, CPR and de-escalation certification, and may require first aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social or health services field is required.
• Experience or practicum in counseling through education or certification process is required.
• CPR and de-escalation certification is required (training provided on hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Participates in client treatment planning and continuum of care.
• Conducts group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required.
• Co-facilitates sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors.
• Responsible for initial and follow-up assessments for clients.
• Prepares individualized treatment plans for assigned clients.
• Ensures all documentation regarding client care is completed timely and clearly.
