Qualifications

  • Current MN license: LADC or ADC-T.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling or related field.
  • Minimum 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Ability to pass DHS Rule 11 background check.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and strong organizational skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to relate effectively to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Complete admission documentation including Individual Abuse Prevention Plan, Initial Services Plan, and Release of Information forms.
  • Demonstrate person-centered care and advocate appropriately for those we serve.
  • Respect and value each person’s background, beliefs, and experiences.
  • Develop diagnostic evaluations and individualized treatment plans based on client strengths, needs, and preferences.
  • Facilitate therapeutic, behavioral, and educational group sessions using evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including assessments, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries.
  • Act honestly and ethically in all situations, owning mistakes promptly with transparency.
  • Align words, decisions, and actions with organizational standards.
  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws and agency policies.
  • Follow through on commitments and responsibilities.
  • Take accountability for outcomes within the role.
