Job summary

BayMark Health Services, through MedMarkTreatment Centers, seeks a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor for its Bloomington outpatient clinic. You will assist patients in medically assisted programs, conduct individual and group sessions, and collaborate with doctors and therapists to optimize treatment plans.

You will document progress, manage crisis situations, and help patients develop coping strategies while adhering to state regulations and using EMR tools. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• CADC certification or pursuing certification while supervised.
• Experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system.
• Successful drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions.
• Lead group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care and present patient status to the treatment team.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans per state requirements.
• Document clinical services and education; maintain quality notes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

Position Overview

The Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. Substance abuse counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. Additionally, Substance abuse counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy. Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.

Responsibilities:

• Individual will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with treatment team accordingly.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and the development and implementation of patient treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements
• Provide clinical services and patient care and education and opiate addiction counseling services to patients
• Excellent documentation and computer skills required
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor

Qualifications:

• CADC or 2 years to obtain certification working while supervised.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals;
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary Range:

Salary ranges from $18.00 to $19.36 an hour.

The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
