Kennesaw State University is seeking a Director of User Services, Librarian Associate Professor or Librarian Professor, to oversee User Services across the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses. This twelve-month, non-tenure track position starts with a goal of December 2026 in Georgia.

The role combines administrative leadership with scholarship and teaching commitments, including serving on the UL leadership team and teaching Journey Honors College courses. Apply by October 17, 2026.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree or the foreign equivalent appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library (e.g., MLIS).
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a librarian in an academic library.

Responsabilités

• Lead the effective and efficient operation of User Services for the University Libraries on both campuses.
• Directly supervise and manage unit employees including hiring, training, mentoring, workloads, setting expectations, and reviews.
• Create, review, and update policies, procedures, and workflows for the unit.
• Identify, develop, and advocate for training or professional development opportunities for the unit.
• Work collaboratively with multiple constituencies inside and outside of the library and university to improve and develop services for the unit.
• Participate on the University Libraries' leadership team to identify issues and inform strategic direction and planning.
• Teach classes for the Journey Honors College.
• Engage in service to the University Libraries, the campus, or the profession.
• Contribute to the development of the library profession through scholarship, presentations, and publications.
