Job summary

Prince William County Government's Potomac Library is seeking a full-time Library Technician who is energetic, dedicated, and committed to delivering excellent service to staff and the diverse community we serve.

You will handle daily desk operations, assist patrons with technology, support collection maintenance, manage cash transactions, and participate in community outreach while working a 37.5-hour week with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with collection maintenance and catalog records is a plus.
• Experience as a team lead or person in charge is desirable.
• Cash handling experience and familiarity with office equipment are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, high-quality customer service to all patrons.
• Handle daily desk operations and manage daily reports.
• Assist patrons with technology and deliver basic tech training.
• Support collection management and act as liaison with staff.
• Represent the library at community outreach events and perform related duties.
