Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis in St. Louis, MO seeks a Library Cataloging Assistant to support collection space projects, update catalog records, and improve user access.

You will evaluate and enhance records, process reports, contribute to department policies, may supervise student assistants, and respond to inquiries from staff. Must have a high school diploma and relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of relevant library cataloging experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with cataloging standards and MARC systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and enhance records for department.
  • Process reports, export/load records.
  • Contribute to development, implementation and ongoing improvement of department policies and procedures and maintains documentation.
  • May supervise student assistants.
  • Communicate with and respond to inquiries from members of the department.

  • Communicate with and respond to inquiries from members of the department.
  • Perform other technical services duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$17.87 - $27.06 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
