Job summary

Riverside County Library System is seeking a Library Advisor, a non-supervisory librarian who serves as a system-wide advisor, implementation leader, and professional resource.

Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, the Library Advisor collaborates with executive leadership, branch managers, and office staff to support high-quality library services, provide training, and help implement executive priorities.

Qualifications

• MLIS/MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Public library experience with operations, programming, collections, and customer service.
• Experience leading projects or coaching managers preferred.
• Strong facilitation, communication, relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Branch Managers regarding public library operations, programming, and customer service.
• Offer guidance, coaching, and implementation assistance.
• Advise on operational incidents and escalate to executives as needed.
• Support implementation of executive priorities and organizational initiatives.
• Assist in onboarding and professional development of management staff.
• Collaborate across departments to improve operational excellence.
• Promote collaboration and organizational effectiveness.
