University of Central Oklahoma is seeking a part-time student library clerk in Edmond to shelve materials, assist with the online catalog, and perform inventory duties. The role supports multiple collections and may back up the Information Desk during peak periods.

The position requires some library experience, familiarity with cataloging basics, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Enrolment in at least half-time coursework is required for eligibility as a student employee.

Qualifications

• Requires a general education plus at least one year of experience in a library setting.
• Experience working in academic libraries.
• Knowledge of Library of Congress, Dewey Decimal, and SuDoc classification systems.
• Knowledge/use of libraries, specifically library call number systems.
• Knowledge of library information systems and electronic databases.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized to handle high-volume requests.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Shelve library materials across multiple collections (Reference, Government Documents, Main, Scores, Media).
• Assist patrons with using the online catalog and locating materials.
• Check and relocate items to correct locations on schedule.
• Operate or assist with microfilm readers, scanners, copiers, and A/V equipment.
• Serve as a backup to the Information Desk as needed.
