Job summary

Elon University is seeking a Library Services & Operations Specialist at the Queens Campus in Charlotte. The role oversees the daily operations of the Charlotte Library's primary service point, manages circulation and interlibrary loan services, and supervises up to 20 student employees.

The position advances library services through training, process improvements, and engagement initiatives, reporting to the Associate Dean of the Charlotte Library. Occasional weekends/evenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or public facing roles.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet scheduling expectations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the library's primary service point, ensuring welcoming, efficient, and student-centered environment.
• Manage resource sharing (interlibrary loan, document delivery, collegial agreements).
• Process interlibrary loan requests daily and generate reports as needed.
• Oversee stacks management.
• Answer routine questions about library services and policies and refer research questions to librarians as appropriate.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate part-time and up to 20 student employees, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance development.
• Coordinate and support library outreach and engagement initiatives, orientation events, and beginning-of-semester programming.
• May collaborate with other departments to support services and accessibility.
