Job summary

Carl Sandburg College is seeking a Coordinator of Library Services to lead information literacy instruction and support faculty across the curriculum. You will coordinate the Embedded Librarian Program and develop LibGuides to support student research and learning outcomes.

You will also liaise with faculty on collection development, analyze usage data, and manage library technologies and outreach efforts across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in library science or a related field preferred.
• Two or more years of progressive experience in library services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and other related software is required.
• Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead information literacy instruction in partnership with faculty across the curriculum.
• Coordinate and improve the Embedded Librarian Program; support faculty partnerships and assess effectiveness.
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate LibGuides to support instructional programs and student research needs.
• Serve as the primary faculty liaison for collection development and provide recommendations on acquisitions, licensing, retention, and deselection.
• Collect, analyze, maintain, and prepare library usage, instruction, and circulation data for assessment and planning.
• Provide frontline support for library technologies, electronic resources, Makerspace programming, and streaming media services.
• Implement procedures for retrieval of delinquent materials and communicate with students about outstanding items.
• Monitor facilities and report maintenance and safety concerns to the Director.
• Develop and maintain library communications and digital content, including the webpage and social media materials.
