Job summary

Joliet Public Library is seeking a full-time Security Guard to patrol the library premises and protect staff and patrons. The role involves enforcing library rules, conducting regular rounds, and responding to incidents with clear written reports.

Qualified candidates will have high school education or equivalent and a security background is preferred. The position requires the ability to walk, stand, and work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, at our Joliet locations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute opening and closing procedures.
• Patrol library building and grounds to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor patron activity and enforce rules of conduct.
• Prepare clear, detailed incident and log reports.
• Call police or emergency services when needed.
• Escort staff and patrons as required.
• Perform routine security checks of doors and windows.
