Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking a Library Assistant- Youth & Families to support youth services, storytimes, and outreach under the guidance of the branch librarian.

You will help young patrons locate books and media, teach basic computer use, assist with program development, and help maintain collections while covering branch operations during supervisor absence; evening and some weekend hours required.

Qualifications

• At least ninety semester hours of undergraduate work are required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Previous library experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist youth and families with accessing books and information.
• Lead or support storytimes and literacy programs.
• Instruct patrons on computer and technology use.
• Maintain and organize youth collections and aid in outreach.
• Assist with branch operations in supervisor's absence.
