Job summary

City of Iowa City seeks a Library Assistant III in the Community and Access Services to support outreach and scheduling of library and community displays. The role travels to community sites to provide outreach services and works on the Help Desk and Bookmobile.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited educational institution and one year of related experience; or three years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a public library, working with technology, and community organizations.
• Valid State of Iowa driver's license with satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, supports the Library's community outreach services and schedules library and community displays.
• Travels to community sites to provide outreach services.
• Maintains department supplies.
• Serves on assigned Library Work Groups and Teams.
• Works on the Help Desk and Bookmobile including evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
