Job summary

The King County Library System is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee Library Page staff, coordinate scheduling, and support daily operations within the Redmond Library and Cascade Region. Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of library or direct public service experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, and hires Library Pages and Library Page Assistants and completes new hire paperwork.
• Supervises direct reports, providing training, coaching, evaluation, and discipline as needed.
• Creates and manages schedules for Library Page staff and approves payroll entries and time off.
• Supports Operations Manager in daily facility care and coordination with ITS and Facilities.
• Resolves routine operational issues and escalates complex matters when needed.
• Assists in daily regional operations and patron services as a member of the Regional Management Team.
• Promotes inclusive work environment and handles daily person-in-charge duties in the absence of the Operations Manager.
