Job summary

Carroll County Public Library seeks a visionary Director of Operations to guide the system’s core operational functions, including technology, facilities, materials management, and the Explorer Commons. You will align initiatives with CCPL’s mission, core values, and strategic priorities, partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to drive service excellence.

You will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio, ensuring reliability while advancing innovation and community impact across all locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Seven+ years of progressively responsible operational leadership experience, including supervisory roles.
• Strong ability to lead complex projects and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Leads operational leadership and aligns priorities with CCPL’s strategic plan and budget.
• Oversees IT systems, facilities management, logistics, and Explorer Commons initiatives.
• Manages capital planning, vendor relations, procurement, and contract negotiations.
• Shapes innovation and service excellence through cross-department collaboration and community engagement.
