Job summary

Greene County Public Library in Yellow Springs seeks a Library Aide to assist with shelving and organizing materials, perform basic repairs, and support daily library operations. The role includes daytime, evening, and weekend hours, requiring reliability and attention to detail.

Starting hourly rate is $11.90. This part-time position reports to the Yellow Springs Youth Services Librarian and contributes to a welcoming community library experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, alphabetize and put items in order.
• Ability to shelve materials accurately and timely.
• Ability to understand and respond to communications.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and shelves library materials.
• Pulls requested library materials from shelves.
• Files magazines.
• Organizes magazine collection.
• Maintains orderly appearance shelves.
• Cleans, recovers, and makes minor repairs to library materials.
• Files movies or cart of mixed materials as needed.
• Attends conferences, workshops, seminars, and training to maintain knowledge.
• Keeps abreast of information by reading email and attending staff meetings.
• Supervisor may require other related duties.
