Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 6+ months related experience.
• Proficiency with Mac and Windows computer systems.
• Ability to file alpha-numerically.
• Commitment to excellent public service and reliability.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal and judgment skills for working with patrons and staff.
• Ability to shelve a full range of shelving units and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Stand for up to 8 hours and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and shelve library materials accurately.
• Assist staff and patrons in locating materials on shelves or processing area.
• Train new Bookshelver/Processor staff and share daily workflow responsibilities.
• Load outbound carts and unload inbound carts for delivery and sorting.
• Handle materials returned via drop boxes and by phone/electronic requests.
• Maintain neat, accurate shelving and assist with inventory and inter-library loan tasks.
• Attend staff and Facilities meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain reliable attendance and support processing operations.
