Job summary

Akron-Summit County Public Library in Akron, OH is seeking a Graphic Designer to support branding and promotional artwork. This full-time on-site role at the Main Library focuses on layout, design, and preparation of library publications and materials.

You will collaborate with a creative team, act as an internal marketing consultant, and help guide the design process while meeting deadlines, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework or Associate's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Knowledge of creative content production and marketing principles and practices.
• Skill in visual art production.
• Understanding of the principles of intellectual freedom.
• Ability to use a computer and job-related software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to pass criminal background and education verification checks.
• Ability to lift light objects (less than 25 pounds) and carry them short distances (50 feet or less).
• Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, and prepare physical and digital artwork and design concepts.
• Design and prepare layouts for Library publications.
• Function as an internal marketing consultant with the Library's employees to guide the creative design process.
