Job summary

The Akron-Summit County Public Library in downtown Akron is seeking a Graphic Designer to join a creative team on-site at the Main Library. The role focuses on creating and preparing artwork for branding, publications, and promotional materials.

You will collaborate with staff to guide the design process, support layout development, and contribute to marketing efforts. A graphic-design education and proficiency with design software are required, with evening/weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework or Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
• Knowledge of content production and marketing principles.
• Skill in visual art production and graphic design.
• Proficiency with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and lift light objects; irregular hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, and prepare physical and digital artwork and design concepts.
• Design and prepare layouts for Library publications.
• Function as an internal marketing consultant to guide the creative design process.
