Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking a Facilities Associate in Redding, CA to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming library facilities. This on-site role handles custodial tasks, basic maintenance, and preparation of spaces for meetings and programs.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt, at $18.50 per hour. Evening, weekend, or holiday shifts may be needed based on operations. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or related work preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, products, and safe chemical handling practices preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established cleaning and maintenance practices.
• Ability to safely operate custodial tools and equipment used in performing assigned duties.
• Ability to respond appropriately and promptly to facility needs and changing priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with library staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean public areas, staff workspaces, meeting rooms, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, and other library spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect library facilities.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
• Restock restroom, cleaning, and custodial supplies.
• Clean windows, glass, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Maintain exterior entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas.
• Assist with seasonal, preventative, and deep-cleaning projects.
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, equipment for programs and events.
• Prepare meeting rooms and programming spaces for public use.
• Provide facilities support for large-scale library events and community gatherings.
