Job summary

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is seeking a Driver to deliver and pick up library materials across Allegheny County on a regular route, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role requires navigating city and county roads, loading heavy bins, and interacting with staff to ensure timely service.

The driver must hold a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license (6+ years) with a clean record, and have at least one year of van driving experience on similar routes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of van driving experience; similar route/delivery driving experience strongly preferred.
• Valid PA driver’s license held for at least 6 years with a clean driving record for the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Delivers books and other materials to libraries along regularly scheduled routes.
• Performs special deliveries as needed.
• Stacks and loads bins in vans for deliveries and exchanges at each stop.
• Interacts with library staff to ensure efficient and courteous service.
• Loads and unloads materials at the Library Support Center.
• Represents CLP in daily operations and complies with safety rules.
