Job summary

Pierce County Library is seeking a dedicated staff member to provide high-quality customer service across multiple locations in the system. The role involves assisting customers with accounts, technology access, and readers’ advisory services, contributing to a positive library experience.

Responsibilities include processing circulations, supporting hardware/software access, and helping customers locate materials, both in person and online.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a related field is required.
• Two years public library/customer service experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background screening prior to hire.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on rotating schedule and adapt to schedule changes.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality, customer-focused services to diverse customers.
• Works with customers in person, by telephone, and digitally.
• Assists customers with library accounts, technology, and readers’ advisory services.
• Provides hardware and software support for customer-accessed technologies and databases.
• Handles library materials, shelving, holds, and card registrations.
