Responsibilities

  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the library's online learning resources, including Canvas modules, tutorials, research guides, FAQs, and video content.
  • Review online content to ensure accuracy, consistency, usability, and alignment with library and campus priorities; identify outdated or redundant content and coordinate updates with liaison librarians and other content owners.
  • Support the accessibility of online learning resources and library content, helping ensure materials meet accessibility standards and provide an inclusive experience for all users.
  • Contribute to usability, content strategy, and program assessment, using user feedback, analytics, assessment data, and best practices to improve online library resources and virtual services.
  • Develop, maintain, and assess frequently asked questions and other self-service resources to help users find answers and navigate library services independently.
  • Provide virtual reference assistance through the library's chat program.
  • Develop and support training resources and opportunities that help library staff effectively create, maintain, and improve online learning resources and services.
  • Participate in other library initiatives and projects that advance User Experience & Engagement priorities.

Overview

Join the Utah State University Library's User Experience & Engagement team, collaborating with library colleagues to develop and maintain online resources that help users find, understand, and effectively use library services and resources.

The library is seeking an Online Learning Support Coordinator to collaboratively develop, maintain, and improve the library's online learning resources and services. This position will primarily focus on helping ensure that digital resources, including Canvas learning modules, library research guides, online tutorials, FAQs, and library video content are current, accessible, user-friendly, and aligned with student and instructional needs.

The position also provides virtual assistance through the library's chat service and supports online service workflows and works collaboratively with colleagues across the library to create consistent, high-quality virtual experiences and support broader library priorities and initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of User Experience & Engagement, this is a full-time, benefited Library Coordinator position with a minimum salary of $49,000.

Anticipated start date: September 2026

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting online learning resources, digital content, tutorials, or instructional materials.
  • Experience working with Canvas, LibGuides/Springshare, YouTube, or similar online learning and content-management platforms.
  • Experience providing virtual reference, chat, or other online library services, preferably in an academic library.
  • Experience supporting online accessibility, usability, content strategy, or user experience initiatives.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, or reporting assessment data, including use of spreadsheets, databases, analytics tools, or other data-management systems.

Work is performed indoors in an open office environment with shared cubicle workspaces. Employees are protected from weather and contaminants but may experience occasional temperature changes. The position requires prolonged sitting, frequent computer use and repetitive hand motions (such as typing), as well as regular walking, talking, and hearing. The position also requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of library materials and the ability to move loaded book carts.
