Job summary

Benhaven Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic part-time library assistant to perform circulation tasks and provide information services to the public using modern library techniques and technology. You will greet patrons, handle checkouts, assist with technology, and support programming across multiple branches in Harnett County.

The position requires up to 29 hours per week with a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• No experience required; some library or customer service experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Willing to obtain Notary Public within 1 year of hire.
• Schedule flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the circulation desk.
• Provide reference and readers' advisory services.
• Assist patrons with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Search catalog and issue/return materials.
• Promote library services and programs.
• Assist with programming for adults.
• Handle print management system and manage patron accounts.
