Job summary

The City of Fort Worth's Summerglen Library is seeking a Librarian Supervisor who is customer-focused and eager to bring library services to a diverse community. You will lead a branch team, plan daily operations, and ensure excellent public service.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in library science or related field and at least three years of professional library experience; Spanish ability is a plus. Salary ranges from $71,661 to $93,159 annually with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in library and information sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Human Relations or a closely related field
• Three (3) years of professional library experience
• Knowledge of management principles, goal setting, budget development/implementation, and staff development and motivation
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build strategic relationships with customers

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations and staff of a branch library to ensure efficient public service
• Providing excellent customer service, including helping customers locate materials and services of interest
• Interpreting policies and procedures and resolving daily operational and customer issues
• Ensuring the location is well-ordered, appealing, and inviting; managing the collection, promotion, maintenance, and weeding
• Supervising staff, including planning and assigning work, performance management, scheduling, addressing complaints and resolving problems; training staff
• Planning, implementing, and evaluating local outreach programs and services with staff
• Evaluates/assesses Library standards and services at location
• Assisting customers with basic computer needs and emerging technologies
